I had the pleasure of attending a wedding over 4th of July weekend and I must say, it was WONDERFUL to sit back and enjoy it in all of its red, white, and blue glory. Still, I couldn't help watch the awesome photographers out of the corner of my eye and feel a little jealous. I had been excited to attend for several weeks and during that time I realized that out of all of the dresses in my closet, I had NO CLUE what I should wear as a guest.
I called the most fashionable women I knew and they all said something different. One said, "You should wear black! It's classic." which was immediately followed by someone else saying, "No, don't wear black, black is for funerals."
Then there was the question about whether or not I should coordinate with my date who would is a Marine Corps officer and would wearing his uniform. In true male fashion, when I asked him, he had no opinion on the matter at all. Thanks a lot..
I wish I would have googled some tips beforehand, like this article on Style Me Pretty by Lauren Conrad. Instead, I played it safe with a blue and white patterned Michael Kors maxi dress (its on sale now, by the way). It was light and breezy, perfect for the humid Texas heat in July.
After all of that worry, I only managed to get one blurry cell phone picture! What do you think, is this dress appropriate wedding guest attire?
